1. Legal Structure of Association 6:40 - 7:00
- VM spoke with Steve Lieberman regarding possible legal status choices
- We will ask Steve if he can present options to the board at next meeting
- Discussed possible tax exempt status options:
- some prevent various types of lobbying, is that okay?
- 501 c4 (established non-profit) may be best fit
- public benefit orgs are not tax exempt, is that important?
- decision that this is an issue that should be voted on by membership
2. Vision Discussion
- Open discussion about what we want to do
- NCL.org presented by Lori
- Discussion about interaction with govnt, attending county meetings
- How do we gather community opinion
- Outside vs. inside influences on community
- Historical review of outside studies that affected zoning code
- Put together a vision statement, how active should we be? what limits?
- Lori suggests outside help to put together vision statement
- Each person puts together a few vision statement sentences
- Vision statement will be focus of next board meeting

- Switching to new engine that permits anonymous posting without login
5. Fictitious Business Names Statement and Other Organizational Updates
- New mailing address for DSAA: a P.O. Box 674, Soda Springs
- Physical address for DSAA: 21714 Donner Pass Rd.
- Filed FBN, with four officers as an association
- once we hear back, we have to publish in paper, 30 days later we're legal
- once we have a FBN we can get a bank account (for donations)
6. Committee Updates
- Government Contact: John Rumsy (888-832-1411)
- PlaVada "Populated Area" sign moved further up the hill
- New signs on order from CalTrans!

Two "Share the Road"
Four, yes four! "Historic Highway 40"
- Signs have "Chain Control" on reverse side
- Signs to be installed in spring
- Senic Bypass designation is under discussion, but not yet approved

- will not attempt a complete plan, just too much work
