October Working Meeting
David Brown, a member of the Board of Directors of the Northstar Property Owners Association, joined us for the October working meeting to share his experiences with the development planning process at Northstar after East/West Partners bought the resort and surrounding property.
The DSAA has been invited to join the scientific review process which will be undertaken by Foster and Syme of Royal Gorge, Sierra Business Council, Sierra Watch and MAPF (Mountain Area Preservation Foundation). The DSAA president, Dan Wexler, will attend a tour of the Royal Gorge property on October 24.
DSAA participated in the Octoberfest event at Cafe 6800 on Saturday, October 14. Cafe 6800 generously donated a portion of the proceeds of Octoberfest mugs to DSAA. We also sold t-shirts at the event. DSAA t-shirts will soon also be available at the Soda Springs General Store.
Several members of the DSAA board recently met with Kirk Syme of Royal Gorge to talk about future development plans. Once again Kirk emphasized that Royal Gorge will share a preliminary land use plan with the community before any project plans are officially submitted to the county.
If you are interested in volunteering your time, the DSAA has formed a number of membership committees which need your help. Please consider putting in some time to help us track important issues in the following committees: Finance, Community Development, Local Agencies, and Safety. Send email to info@donnersummitareaassociation if you have time to help out!
The details of the meeting are available in the meeting minutes.
