The annual DSAA membership meeting was held this past weekend on Saturday, August 18th at Claire Tappaan Lodge. Approximately 50 members and guests attended. The full presentation covered our progress over the last year including a recap of the Summit Summit, the follow-on survey, changes with Royal Gorge and other community building events. The minutes of the meeting include all of the details on our finances, budget and details of the presentation.

The second portion of the meeting included an open discussion on a few topics. We began by encouraging the members to contribute ideas for future DSAA-supported community building events. Suggestions included a voter registration drive, a Fourth of July party, trail maintenance, and ways of using the fees paid by local developers to the regional parks and recreation fund.

We elected a new board at the meeting. Currently entering their second year of a two-year term are four board members: Ron Kolbe, John Kirrene, Jim Thomson and Daniel Wexler. Returning for a second two-year turn are: Carried Hoyt, Starr Walton-Hurley, Patricia Malberg and SaraTaillon. Four new candidates were elected for their first term: Kathryn Gray, Mickey Gray, Alisha Lee and Tamara Lieberman.

After the membership meeting finished, the new board had a short meeting where we nominated Pat Malberg as the new president, Mickey Gray as vice president, Sara Taillon as Secretary and Alisha Lee as Treasurer. The board will vote on the new executive officers at the next working meeting to be held at Katie Gray's house on September 10th. Details are in the minutes of this short meeting.
