Summit Cleanup Day

Please come out and join the community as we clean up all the garbage that melted out from the snow. We meet at 10am, this Saturday, June 17th at the General Store. Please see the first post on this topic for more details about the great party to follow at Sue and Cliff Busby's house.
The management of Soda Springs Ski Resort has already taken the initiative to clean up the parking lot around the resort and much of Soda Springs Road from the flashing light up to cascade. You can see them loading up trash in this snapshot. I've heard that they actually came out for multiple days! Way to go guys! That section of road is always one of the hardest sections during cleanup day, and you've really done your part this year. The parking lot looks like it has been swept clean. Nice work.
For the first time Royal Gorge has joined with other regional businesses including Soda Springs Ski Resort, and Sugar Bowl by donating dumpsters for the cleanup. It is fantastic to see the community come together for cleanup day!
DSAA Working Meeting Minutes
Neil Erasmus, General Manager of Royal Gorge, and Peter Mayfield, consultant to the owners, joined us at our last working meeting on Thursday, June 8th at the Summit Restaurant. We had a lively discussion about Royal Gorge's desire to improve relations with the community. More details will be included in a separate blog post to come shortly and some details are included in the minutes of this meeting.
The focus on our meeting was preparations for our General Membership Meeting at 10am, Saturday, July 1st, at the Donner Ski Ranch. Members should receive notification of the meeting in the next week or so by phone, US-mail and email. Please save the date and join us to hear about our accomplishments over the last year, vote for a new board and join in one of the community committees we will be forming that morning.

Apologies for Downtime
I've been traveling in India for the past week or so and was unable to repair the DSAA website. I'll be enhancing the automatic recovery and battery backup for the hosting machine in the next week or so to try and prevent this from happening in the future.
